Neon for hospitality
In a room where the lighting is low, neon is not decoration but atmosphere. And almost every guest photographs it — advertising you did not pay for.
Where it usually ends up
- Behind the bar. The classic. Just make sure your sign is not directly behind the taps: then it is in the way of every photo instead of in it.
- In the toilets. Do not underestimate this one. It is where most of the photos come from, because that is where people are on their own.
- Above the pass or the terrace window. Works as a signpost and as atmosphere at the same time.
- On the facade. That means the outdoor build, and check the permit with your council.
Grease, steam and cleaning
Silicone LED neon copes fine with a damp cloth. In a kitchen or right above a fryer you will get a film of grease that needs taking off now and then — lukewarm water with a little washing-up liquid, no scouring agent and no solvent, because that attacks the acrylic plate.
If it really hangs in the steam, go for a sealed build. That is easier to keep clean.
Dimming is not a luxury
A sign that looks exactly right at four in the afternoon is too bright at eleven at night. A dimmer on the cable is standard. Want to control it from behind the bar or from your phone? That is possible too — mention it with your order.
Power use in a place that is open long hours
A 100 cm sign draws roughly 25 watts. Twelve hours a day, every day, comes to about 110 kWh a year: at a business rate of € 0.30 that is around € 33. Less than a single fridge.

How quickly will my sign arrive in the Netherlands?
Three working days after you approve the design. We build your sign in our workshop in Heusden-Zolder and ship from there to your Dutch address. So yes, the parcel crosses a border — that is already counted in those three days.
Order on a Friday afternoon and approve on Monday morning and Thursday is your day. Sundays do not count.
What does shipping to the Netherlands cost?
Nothing. Shipping to any Dutch address is included. The Wadden Islands too, although those sometimes take a day longer.
What does a custom neon sign cost?
Most signs for the home land between € 180 and € 450. For a shopfront or a bar, expect € 400 to € 1,200 depending on width and letter count.
Price follows the metres of bent tube, not the number of characters. A short name in a heavy typeface costs more than a long sentence in a thin script. The design tool shows it live.
I only have my logo as a JPG. Is that a problem?
Send it over. We redraw your logo as a bendable path ourselves, and that is included in the price. A sharp JPG or PNG is enough; an SVG, AI or EPS just makes it faster.
What we cannot do is turn a photo with fifty gradients into neon. Neon is a line of light, not a print. The design mock-up shows you exactly what survives.
Do I see the design before you start?
Always. You get a to-scale design with dimensions. Nothing goes on the bending table until you say yes. That mock-up is free, even if you decide not to order.
How much power does a sign use?
Far less than people expect. A 60 cm sign draws roughly 12 to 20 watts — about the same as a compact fluorescent. Run it eight hours a day and at € 0.35 per kWh that is around € 20 a year.
